Movies And Gum

Yesterday we bought Enzo his first pack of gum! L.O.V.E.D it! His OWN gum!
We had movie, pizza, popcorn, candy and gum night last night. It was wonderful!

Take a look at this short clip of Enzo chewing his "own" gum.

The Beginning Of The Storm And Goodbyes

Today a storm came to Malmoe just in time for my mom's departure. Well, not good timing for a departing flight but good timing for someone who is not too fond of cold weather.

With that said, we started our journey to the airport around 10:20am for a 1:20pm departing flight. Fortunately when we got to Denmark the weather didn't seem as windy, stormy as it was in Malmoe and neither was it so when it was nearing time for her flight to depart.

As many of you probably know, I suck at saying goodbye. I become a big waterhead! At security control, the tears begin to flow as grandma is saying her goodbye's to "her" Enzo. Enzo reminds us that it's ok and says, "grandma you are going home to grandpa now". As she makes her way through the line Enzo keeps asking me if I am still sad and his eyes begin to tear up when he sees that, yes I still am. Talk about empathy.

Grandma has officially started her journey home and we are here in the middle of a storm.

We miss you already mom and can't wait to see you again!!!

The beginning of the storm.

On the train, heading to Kastrup airport.

Cuddling at Starbucks at the airport.
At the security control, preparing to say our goodbyes.

And it begins...tears, that is.

Goodbye Grandma!
We love you!
Here is the storm getting wild. Unfortunately the pic doesn't do it justice.

A Cold Day

The other day we went down to the west harbour! It was freezing cold! But it was nice to show my mom around down there since we didn't make it over there when she was last here. We had a nice "fika" with a good friend Lina and then took a brief stroll around the area. The community down there is just lovely with great homes, restaurants, boutiques, cafes etc.

If you look closely, in the background you can see the bridge which connects Malmö to Copenhagen.

Our skyscraper, Turning Torso.

Lacking Discipline

Just about everyday for the past week or probably longer I feel disgusting and filled with indigestion after every meal. I know I shouldn't take seconds or better yet my first portion should probably be half the size but nonethless, I indulge! And I pay for it every second afterwards! YUCK! It makes me so mad! Why can't I just say NO??

I don't recall feeling this way with Enzo or maybe I had better discipline but I have got to learn my lesson. How long should it take??

Starting tomorrow, I am putting my foot down!! Whatever I don't get to taste the first time around I can always try it later, right?

Ok, wish me luck! I am rooting for myself because I can't continue to feel this way for the next 160 + days!

An Unusual Sight...

...and I forgot my camera at home but my phone did the job!

Anyone who really knows my mom, knows that she does not, I repeat, does not like the outdoors, especially if it's cold or hot :-) ! I surprisingly, or I should say we, Enzo and I, convinced her to go on an adventure with us. It was fun. We went to the park where he rides his sled down the hill. We went by his old school, the outdoor one. And then we just took a nice stroll back home. It was cold but not too cold and it was great!

Birthday Party Part 2... And We're Done!

The birthday parties are over but if it were up to Enzo we would have another one. Sunday's sha-bang went well. It was fun!

Here are some pics from the last birthday party of the year.

We played Pin The Tail On The Donkey. We had a winner...

...this little red head won! The baby corner. The toddler corner. Carrot cupcakes, per Enzo's request. Enzo and his birthday twin, Emme. Here they are again. They wanted to sleep together.
Then there were plenty of gifts to open and he had good help from Emme :-) "Happy Birthday"

We've Celebrated....Birthday Party Part1

Yesterday we had Enzo's first birthday party for his 3rd birthday! It was a success! Enzo had a good time running around with his cousins. About mid-party he became a bit tired. It was the lack of a nap and then I am sure it was also the downside of the "sugar rush".

In preparing for the party I was efficient, energetic...good. And then afternoon hit and I became super, super sleepy! I wanted to lay my head on a pillow and just rest. But that had to wait until guests left and the cake was made for party #2.

Yesterdays party was just family and today we will celebrate with friends. Due to space we thought it was best to split it up into two parties....aka more work :-)! Enzo is super excited to eat cake again...too funny! Yesterday he kept asking, "can I have my birthday now?" Which means, "can I eat cake now!" Too cute!

Here are some pics to give you a recap of the day. Enjoy!

All set up.

Thanking (Uncle) Andreas for the gifts.

Milk, it does a body good!...Pass it on!
Mattias was thrilled about his toy here! He can't wait to open it. He was very disappointed when I suggested that we put it away for a year or so until Enzo gets a bit bigger.

Singing Happy Birthday! Finally it's time to "have his birthday", according to Enzo.

Honored to be the center of attention, at least when it comes to eating the cake first!
The last man standing, two slices later.
I can't believe he is 3 years old!
Horsing around with Andreas, Sam and Noah!
Giving Isak a litte ride in the wagon. Isak l.o.v.e.d it!
After craziness came some games and stories.

Rest

Grandma's here! It's like heaven! Enzo is wearing her out instead of us. Mattias and I can have conversations without being interrupted. It's so wonderful! However, this morning I woke up and kind of missed Enzo because he was so engulfed in Grandma but I am enjoying every minute of it. TRUST ME!

It's not often, if ever, we get a break so this is all so lovely! Wish we lived closer to family.

Enzo waiting patiently for Grandma's arrival.
She finally made it and now we are getting bundled up to get out in the cold!

3! Three! Tre!

Today our baby turned 3! It blows me away, literally! Where has the time gone???

I have been waiting with such anticipation this week for this grand day. Because now he is old enough to understand, at least a little bit more than the years before.

Two days ago I asked him what he would like for breakfast. Much to my surprise he said, "a yellow cupcake with orange frosting and blue sprinkles." Last night, that changed to a cupcake with white frosting and blue sprinkles. Just to make sure, I asked, "do you want that for breakfast or for a snack later?" It was breakfast. I wasn't hearing things. Not my breakfast of choice but his wish is my command, at least on his birthday!

We didn't have much planned for him today, especially since Mattias has pronounced the whole week to be his birthday week. Grandma arrives tomorrow. The festivities continue. Then we will be having birthday parties on the weekend. The festivities continue. And come to an end on Sunday. Today, we did however, go to the movie theater. A first. We saw Curious George 2, he had chicken nuggets from the "Chicken Nugget Store" and then we just relaxed.

We have truly been blessed with such a wonderful child and we look forward to many more years together with you, Enzo! Happy Birthday baby! We love you!

ps
As of now, I have zero energy! This pregnancy has been kicking my butt. But I am hoping to be full of energy as the week comes to an end and it's time to prepare for the parties. Wish me luck!

At his first movies!

Amazed

We watched this movie the other day. I happened to just turn on the tv and it was showing...we came about 10minutes into it. I have been wanting to re-visit this movie for a while and I thought it could be a good movie for Enzo to watch. Hoping it wasn't too advanced for his age.
Anywho, we watched. He sat in my lap totally mesmerized and captured by the singing and all that was going on in Munchkin land as well as her journey to the Emerald City. No joke, at two different moments in the movie, his eyes fill with tears and the second time was full on crying. My first reaction was he is scared by something. No, I was totally wrong. He had empathy for Dorothy..."she wants to get back to her mommy", he said. Then at then end when the hot air balloon takes off without Dorothy this causes an overflow of emotions for the little guy. He balls!!
I am totally stunned and amazed at our soon 3yr old little boy! I love him!
He wanted to watch it again, immediately after! This is a must buy movie for us!
