Let's start with a brief up date of the rest of the summer...mostly in pictures but you know me, I can't let it be not to say a word or two as well.
Well, from the beginning of June till mid August, I was working the night shift (9pm-7am) at Labor & Delivery. It was great but I was exhausted. It was fantastic to get a job there since I plan to become a midwife, as soon as I can. Have to work for a year as a RN before I can apply for a specialty.
Anywho, aside from all the working I did, we actually got out and did a lot. We had some good weather and we did a lot of day trips. When the end of summer rolled around, I think the kids were about ready to return to school and us grown ups ready to return back to the daily grind of work, school etc.
Ok, here come a ton of pics...guess we'll start with Aleksander's 2nd birthday party since that has yet to be documented.
So, we had Aleksander's birthday at home on the back terrace/patio...whatever it's called. We filled the kiddie pool up and let the kids go wild. We invited people to his party that we felt had/has been a part of his life the past year. It was a good amount of people, just enough for a 2 year old...
Aleksander having a birthday swim in his birthday suit! As you can see his party fell on a day when the weather was just beautiful! We couldn't have asked for a better day.
Here he is pissed about something, I am sure it was the mere fact that I made him put those clothes on...no, it was probably because I wanted to take a picture.
His tie-dye cake in the process. I must admit it was a success. It looked pretty cool. Swedes are not used to all the decorating and frosting on cakes, like us Americans. So, they called it the poisonous cake because of all of the bright colors.
The party consisted of only "fika" aka cake and such. The goods were either gluten free and/or lactose free. We have some weird friends and I have a weird husband...no, just kidding.
The birthday boy and his cake!
The MÃ¥nsson/Yeo family was at the party.
Opening gifts.
After cake and gifts we decided to walk across the street and let the kids run wild at the beach. Love our close beach access...talk about quality of life!
Farfar and Nenne drove down to celebrate Aleksander.
The Rosenquists
The Svenssons
And Farmor and Lasse.
I think Aleksander was quite satisfied...he didn't say otherwise. :) I remember as a kid I always wished my birthday was in the summer time...you can do so many more things than just have slumber parties and such. Now, I have my own child, who happens to have a birthday in the summer time...now I can enjoy all the fun summer parties.
